Grade 9 Syllabus

CBSE has not updated/published the syllabus for 2022-2023. For the time being, we will continue with the last year's syllabus.  The syllabus is as follows;

The termwise breakdown is as shown below;

TERM – I

Unit III: Motion, Force, and Work

Chapter – 8 Motion

Motion: Distance and displacement, velocity; uniform and non-uniform motion along a straight line; acceleration, distance-time, and velocity-time graphs for uniform motion and uniformly accelerated motion, derivation of equations of motion by graphical method; elementary idea of uniform circular motion.

Chapter – 9 Force and Laws of Motion

Force and Newton’s laws: Force and Motion, Newton’s Laws of Motion, Action and Reaction forces, Inertia of a body, Inertia, and mass, Momentum, Force and Acceleration. Elementary idea of conservation of Momentum.

TERM - II

Unit III: Motion, Force, and Work

Chapter – 10 Gravitation

Gravitation: Gravitation; Universal Law of Gravitation, Force of Gravitation of the earth (gravity), Acceleration due to Gravity; Mass and Weight; Freefall.

Chapter – 11 Work and Energy

Work, energy, and power: Work done by a Force, Energy, power; Kinetic and Potential energy; Law of conservation of energy.

Tips for Isometric projection of machine blocks

Orthographic projection gives us views of objects from a particular direction only. Looking from the front, we get front elevation and from the top, we get a plan or the top view. The orthographic projection is complete in one direction only. To have an entire detail, we need to prepare at least three different views from three different directions. Still, for a quick reference, a pictorial view will be a better option.  We have several ways of drawing pictorial drawings on a two-dimensional plane. It can be a perspective or oblique or isometric pictorial drawing. For Engineering Graphics, we usually use isometric projection to obtain the pictorial impression. In isometric projection, there are three principal axes inclined to each other at an angle of 120 degrees.
